Question - How to ripen pumpkins after frost?
Will pumpkins turn orange if they are still green on the vine? Kind of like the
concept with tomatoes. My pumpkin plants have died from frost and some of the pumpkins are starting to turn orange. Dave Tomevi USA 28th September 2000
AnswerAs tomatoes they will need temperature 14-21 degreesC to ripen. They can however ripen in full sun in greenhouse or sunny windowledge as their skins will hardened. When they are ripe they should be stored in a frost free place, ideally 10 degreesC, until required for use.
